Not all women-owned small businesses are WOSB-certified. Just because a business is “woman-owned” doesn’t mean they are WOSB; they have to meet specific SBA criteria
Self-certification is no longer accepted. As of changes in policy, SBA no longer supports self-certification for WOSB; third-party or formal certification is required.
Certification must be current. Some directories may list businesses that were WOSB in the past but may have lost the certification or grown beyond size standards. Always verify current status.
